Biography

Lief Erikson Gamalo is an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines Mindanao. He graduated from Leyte Normal University and obtained his Masters degree from UP Los Baños. His research interests focus on terrestrial vertebrate wildlife, primate biology, wildlife diseases, and wildlife conservation. Assistant Prof. Gamalo is a regular member of the National Research Council of the Philippines, and a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature-Species Survival Commission (IUCN-SSC) Primate Specialist Group division on human-primate interactions.

Additionally, he was awarded the Faculty Grant for Research and Public Service for 2022-2024 by the University of the Philippines, and the Gawad Chancellor Para sa Pinakamahusay na Guro (Junior Faculty, 2023) in recognition of his work.
